About Us

Our Mission: "Personal Development & Fitness Through the Martial Arts"
Your overall health and well-being is our most important concern. Through our program we will help you improve your physical and mental development and provide you with skills for self-defense.

Our customized private lessons and unlimited group classes allow you to learn faster and retain more. You will learn best when working one-on-one with your own personal instructor. Your instructor will be there to keep you motivated and help you successfully reach whatever goals you set for yourself.

Our Motto: "Train Harder, Live Better" ®
When you practice martial arts your life will continue to improve. The rewards of developing a martial spirit — RESPECT, DISCIPLINE, COURAGE, HONOR, LOYALTY, INTEGRITY and HUMILITY — manifest itself in a person's virtuous character and lifestyle.

Choosing a martial arts school is an important decision.  Martial art styles and prices can be very similar.  What can vary greatly is the value of the training that you receive. Some schools may charge less for minimal participation and minimal instruction. At the Concord Kung Fu Academy, we offer all students a valuable training experience through our unique and customized program.

Choy Li Fut Kung Fu

Shaolin Roots Choy Li Fut is the name of the kung fu system we teach at the Concord Kung Fu Academy. Known as Cai Li Fo in Mandarin, it is descended from the Shaolin temple and well known for its circular movements, Shaolin animal techniques, and a variety of traditional Chinese weapons. Choy Li Fut is a masterful blending of Northern Shaolin footwork and Southern Shaolin hand techniques, making it, an intricate and challenging martial art. Choy Li Fut includes sweeps, takedowns, pressure point attacks, joint locks and grappling. It emphasizes the use of the combination of external strength with internal force. Choy Li Fut is regarded worldwide as one of the most challenging styles of kung fu, and is quickly becoming one of the most sought after to learn and study around the globe.

Yang Tai Chi

Tai Chi Chuan translated means "Grand Ultimate Fist," referring to what the ancients thought of its benefits. The Yang style of Tai Chi is one of the most popular and widely practiced in the world today, due to its great health and relaxation benefits. The instructors at the Concord Kung Fu Academy teach the Yang style, as passed down from Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong, world renowned as one of the leading authorities on the Yang Style of Tai Chi. His teacher, Hu Yuen Chou was a student of Yang Cheng Fu, the Grandson of the founder, Yang Lu Chan.

Plum Blossom International Federation Member

Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong is the President of the Plum Blossom International Federation of Choy Li Fut Kung Fu & Yang Tai Chi Chuan, which he founded in 1986. The Plum Blossom Federation has over 300 schools in 39 countries.

The Academy, under Sifu Evelina Lengyel's direction, is re-certified biennially by Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong. This ensures the accuracy and authenticity of the teaching of Choy Li Fut Kung Fu and Yang Tai Chi by the instructors.
