Self Defense

Self-Defense

Confidence, speed, power and the execution of proper technique is what is needed to stop an attacker. Students learn to overcome an opponent through the practice of techniques that utilize leverage, joint locks and strikes to vulnerable points of the body.

Awareness of oneself and others is a vital part of personal safety.

The most important part of self-defense is learning to recognize the first stages of an attack. The practice of awareness is key to prevention. We use our intuition and other intention to derail potentially dangerous situations before we need to use force.

The training provided at the Concord Kung Fu Academy helps students develop the skills to avoid a conflict as well as skills to defend themselves if necessary.

Self-Defense Starts with Oneself

The same principle of awareness applies to your health. We must take care of our minds and bodies. This includes eating well, exercising regularly and reducing stress. All of these factors play an important role in preventing physical and mental problems. If we maintain a strong awareness of ourselves and our environment, we can prevent or address most injuries and illnesses.
