Sparring & Weapons Sparring

Sparring

Sparring helps students work on reaction, timing and distance. Students do not spar until they are familiar with the basic stances, blocks, strikes and kicks.

The instructor will decide when the student is ready to participate in sparring sessions.

Weapons Sparring

Weapon training starts when a student reaches an intermediate level. To use a weapon effectively, the martial artist must become one with the weapon. Training with weapons helps students develop upper body strength, weapon skills and coordination.

At the Concord Kung Fu Academy, students are given the unique opportunity to practice their weapon techniques using specially padded weapons.

Push Hands Integral part of self-defense and sparring training.

Self-defense Essential training.
